Rhythm

My definition of RHYTHM is the uniformed repetition between vibrations and silence.

  • What do you like about the way she presented the information? Why?
      • Miss Taylor was VERY ANIMATED which will keep the children on their toes! It's like reading a story to a child, why read it in your voice when you can create a voice so they will want to listen. I also applaud  her for shortening the definition so the child will be able to understand the concept! She encouraged the class to create their own assumption of what was the definition of rhythm. I really liked this idea and could consider using this when introducing new concepts in my own classroom.

  • What do you dislike about the way she presented information? Why?
      • The only thing I wished Miss Taylor did was ask her "audience" what their definitions were, although I doubt she had a real class there.

    • Is this an example of good teaching? Why do you think so?
        • I believe this is a good example of teaching, her attitude and enthusiasm were very memorable and encouraging to when you begin to teach a lesson. Especially for this age group, I can sense how a younger child would laugh and giggle about how she was loud in one of the sections (I believe it was when she was giving the longer definition, assuming no one understood what she said).
      • How many different ways did she present the information? Why do you think this is important?
        1. Definition
        2. Refined definition
        3. Picture
        4. Clapping the beat
          • This is important because it allowed for all learning styles to understand how to determine the definition of rhythm.

      1. I also liked how she asked the students to come up with their own definition. She was very personable and if she actually had a class there I think she would be able to easily keep their attention.

      2. Miss Taylor was VERY antimated which I think helps when working with children and keeping their attention. I also noticed how her facial expressions were used when she wanted to children to notice that pause when demonstrating rhythm.

      3. I also think it was great how she was able to reach all of the different learning styles. I think its super important since people learn in different ways.

      4. I agree that Miss Taylor was very animated which is great when working with children. I think it was very interesting that she asked for everyone's own definition of rhythm by involving them in the lesson. Also, I think it was great that she incorporated all the different learning styles which I think makes for a wonderful teacher.

      5. I agree Chelsea I think that Miss Taylor was very energetic and entertaining. She also was able to keep our attention, which when working with kids. After all our hardest task will be keeping the students attention long enough to teach them something.
